ABOUT RF MICRONEEDLING
What Is RF Microneedling?
RF Microneedling combines two advanced technologies to support natural skin rejuvenation.
During treatment, ultra-fine sterile needles create controlled micro-injuries within the skin, stimulating the body's natural healing response and encouraging the production of new collagen and elastin.
At the same time, radiofrequency energy is delivered into the deeper layers of the skin. This controlled heat further stimulates collagen production, helping to firm, tighten and remodel the skin over time.
At Crane Medical Clinic, RF Microneedling is delivered using the Focus Dual® system, allowing treatment depth and radiofrequency intensity to be tailored to your skin and individual concerns.

Treatment Areas
The full process
1. Consultation: Your treatment journey begins with a consultation to discuss your skin concerns, goals and medical history. We'll assess your skin and determine whether RF Microneedling is suitable for you before creating a personalised treatment plan.
2. Preparation: On the day of treatment, your skin will be cleansed and prepared. Your practitioner will talk you through the procedure again and ensure you're comfortable before treatment begins.
3. Microneedling: A handheld device containing ultra-fine sterile needles creates controlled micro-injuries within the skin. The needle depth can be adjusted depending on the area being treated and your individual skin concerns.
4. Radiofrequency Energy: Radiofrequency energy is delivered through the microneedles into the deeper layers of the skin. The controlled heat stimulates collagen and elastin production and supports skin tightening and remodelling.
5. Treatment: The device is carefully moved across the targeted areas. You may experience a mild prickling sensation, warmth or pressure during treatment. Your practitioner can adjust the settings if required to help keep you comfortable.
6. Aftercare: Following treatment, post-procedure skincare and SPF will be applied. We'll provide you with aftercare advice, including guidance around sun exposure and skincare while your skin recovers.
7. Recovery & Results: Some temporary redness, mild swelling or sensitivity may occur following treatment and usually settles within a few days.

FAQ
How does RF Microneedling work?
Ultra-fine needles create controlled micro-injuries within the skin while simultaneously delivering radiofrequency energy into the deeper layers. This stimulates the skin's natural healing response and encourages the production of new collagen and elastin, helping to improve firmness, texture and overall skin quality
When will I see results?
Many clients begin to notice improvements around 2–3 weeks after their first treatment. Results develop gradually as new collagen is produced and may continue improving for several weeks following your treatment course.
Does RF Microneedling hurt?
You may feel some warmth, pressure or a mild prickling sensation during treatment. Settings can be adjusted according to your comfort, and numbing cream may be used if required.
How long does treatment take?
Treatment time depends on the size and number of areas being treated, but the existing Crane Medical Clinic guidance gives a typical appointment time of 30 minutes to one hour.
How many treatments will I need?
Results may be visible after one treatment; however, the existing clinic guidance recommends approximately 2–6 treatments at four-week intervals for the best results, depending on your individual skin concern.
Is there any downtime?
Downtime is generally minimal. Some redness, mild swelling and skin sensitivity can occur immediately after treatment, but these effects usually settle within a few days
What areas can RF Microneedling treat?
RF Microneedling can be used on a number of areas including the face, neck, chin, décolletage, jowls, eye area, hands and areas affected by scars or stretch marks.
Can RF Microneedling help with acne scars?
RF Microneedling can be used to improve the appearance of acne scarring by stimulating collagen production and encouraging skin remodelling. Suitability and the number of treatments required will depend on the type and severity of scarring
